SYMMETRY - JULY 14, 2003

Located along the Ben Franklin Parkway, in Philadelphia, the Rodin Museum is a part of the Philadelphia Museum of Arts. It showcases 124 works of art by the famous French artist, Auguste Rodin. The Thinker, his most famous creation, and perhaps the most famous sculpture in the world, is located outside the museum, right at the entrance. I remember having seen The Thinker in The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. There too the sculpture was displayed outside, at the entrance! I wonder why! Why is it that The Thinker is often placed at the gates to art museums! ... It seems The Thinker was originally designed to occupy the center of the tympanum of The Gates of Hell. So what are we trying to say here??

Today's picture is my submission for this week's Photo Friday. I clicked this photo in the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia. What you see in the picture is a fountain inlet and it's reflection in still water. I have used Photoshop to give this picture a Lomo feel.
