UI CHALLENGES -

those hi-fi, snazzy user interfaces from Minority
Report? The ones where the machine operators tap on holographic controls
that materialize in thin air? Well, looks like we are once again, going to
witness the transformation of science fiction into scientific reality. And
that too in the very near future! This article
in the NY Times, reports about a holographic keypad already developed by Holo
Touch, a startup involved in creating holographic user interfaces. (via Slashdot).
what have my Usability-enthusiast friends have to say about this? Will we
really have to swing our arms, right to left, in thin air, to do a backspace
or close window, like John Anderton did in Minority Report?
